The Whitby Lions Football Club is always looking for volunteers to help deliver the best possible football program for our young athletes.  From helping at registration to setting up fields to coaching, there are lots of opportunities to get involved.  If you are interested in joining the team, please contact us at info@whitbylionsfootball.ca

Below are some of the ways you can get involved:

Coach or Assistant Coach (1-2 hrs per week)

• Leading a team through weekly skills development sessions and games

• Teaching individual skills and team tactics

• Being a positive role model and ambassador of the Club

​

Game-day setup or takedown (20-30 minutes per week)

• Laying out field markers (pylons/cones) before games

• Gathering markers after games

• Distributing / collecting game balls

​

Scorekeeper (game-by-game)

• Logging scoring activity for games

• Returning scorecards to Club official after game

​

Championship day volunteer (1 - 2 hrs on championship day)

• General help on championship day

• Distributing snacks, setting up tables, etc.

​

Secondary School Students

​

Sideline official 

• Supporting lead on-field official

• Understanding and enforcing rules of the game

​

Coach-in-training

• Supporting the head coach and assistant coach with practices and games

• Being a positive role model and ambassador of the Club
